Jay Schwartz, president of Elipse Limited, has been active in the computer industry since graduation from the City University of New York in 1969, with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. He is also a Certified Computer Professional (CCP) Specializing in Management.
In the early 1970's, Mr. Schwartz worked for Olivetti Canada as the Montreal software manager with responsibility for all of Eastern Canada. In that position, and later in Toronto covering Central Canada, he had both technical and financial responsibility for software support to purchasers of Olivetti computers and accounting machines. Emphasis was on applications in the business environment.
He was later employed by Hewlett Packard as applications engineer for the computational products group. He provided technical support and training for the field sales force and to customers. In this position, Mr. Schwartz was involved with mainly scientific and industrial uses of computers including real time data acquisition and computer communications.
Since founding Elipse in 1975, Mr. Schwartz has written programs for engineering, industrial, scientific, business, and graphics applications and has served as a consultant to industry and government.
